02-10-07 . . Well, it's not that there's nothing going on with the bike right now, it's just that I'm not the one doing it! I decided that the starter clutch (Bendix) was more than my shade-tree-mechanic's tool box could handle so I took the bike to Mike's Hog Repair on Hickman Mills Drive. Mike has been our auto mechanic of choice for many years. He's always worked on Harleys too, but I've never had one for him to work on until now. He's had the bike for two weeks to the day today, but with this weather I'm in NO hurry. I kinda hope he just replaces the starter clutch and doesn't try to actually start the bike! I wanna do that! I went down to the DMV to register the bike on Monday. Everything went fine (finally). We'll see how well it went when the new title comes back. No new parts, either. I'm thinking about building the bike using scrap metal and bits I find in the trash. Real Rat-Bike style! I'm thinking about rigidizing the swingarm with steel tubing this year before I hardtail it next year. But, you know how plans go.
