04-17-07 . . Here's a short video of a few photos of the bike, over the sound of it running today. The first shot is of the mock-up with the new tank. The second shot is how it looks today, painted and installed. The third shot is a photoshop concept of how it might look soon. The weather has been lousy since the last entry, so nothing has been done until just today. The gas tank was installed along with the front brake master cylinder. The timing was adjusted and the carb air-fuel mixture was set. I jumpered connections for the soon-to-be-installed oil pressure light and confirmed that YES I do have oil pressure! Kinda important if I want this bike to run without burning up. That's about all I had time for today. Next on the list is the front brake line. The drag bars drastically shortened the length of line needed and I can't shorten this hose, so time for a new line. With a dependable front brake, there'll be nothing stopping me from riding it! About the only thing I really liked about this bike when I bought it was the seat. Well, the front mount broke today at a crappy weld somebody cribbed up. I can get a new mounting bracket with no trouble, but maybe it's a sign. I've been thinking about having it recovered anyway. Hmmm . . .
