Peet Residence Built in 1928, the H. O. Peet residence is a successful National Register of Historic Places nominee and preservation easement property in Mission Hills, Kansas. The seven-acre landscape was designed by noted landscape architects Hare & Hare, and remains largely intact, including three formal flower gardens and a large vegetable garden.

The Fidelity National Bank and Trust Building in Kansas City was designed by Hoit, Price and Barnes, and completed in 1931. Today it serves a dual purpose as office space and as a cornerstone of downtown's burgeoning high-rise condo market.

Gladstone Bridge Buildings are not the only structures that can be eligible for listing on the National Register. The Gladstone Bridge over Anderson Ave. in Northeast Kansas City, Missouri looks the same today as it did nearly 100 years ago.

The President Gardens Apartment Complex, constructed 1943-44, was built to house the workers of the new Pratt Whitney airplane factory nearby. This photo was one taken for a National Register nomination which secured substantial tax credits for the owners of the property when they rehabilitated the complex.

Z=Bar Ranch Z-Bar Ranch, an 11,000 acre cattle ranch located in Chase County, Kansas. This photo was taken for a successful National Landmark nomination, leading to the ranch's designation as a National Park in 1997.

Vaile Mansion, Independence, Missouri Designed by K.C. architect Asa Beebe Cross and built in 1881, the Vaile Mansion in Independence, Missouri, was restored in 1974 and is currently a living history museum. This photo was used in American Institute of Architects Guide to Kansas City Architecture & Public Art.

The back window on this building in the historic 18th & Vine Jazz District in Kansas City speaks volumes. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, deferred maintenance has left it slated for demolition. Pre-demolition recordation is often the only preservation tool available.
